As anyone who knows me will tell you I love my rock. Therefore I was absolutely delighted when a good friend of mine arranged for me to have photo passes to some upcoming gigs. Unsurprisingly I loved every minute of it, what was surprising however was quite how difficult a medium it is. You're essentially shooting constantly moving subjects on a stage with ever changing lighting conditions and that's before you even consider how many shots get ruined by a microphone or long hair blocking the subject's face.
I was really glad to get this opportunity to practice without the pressure of turning in any shots and look forward to more chances at honing this part of my profession.
So here are a few of my favourites from the three gigs I shot (
Murderdolls,
Black Label Society, and
Rob Zombie). Not bad for a beginner though I don't think
Ross Halfin will shaking in his boots just yet.
